How to Use a GPX File and Cycling Navigation

1 What Is GPX?

GPS Exchange Format (.gpx), bike computers (Garmin Edge, Wahoo ELEMNT, IGPSPORT) and smartphone navigation apps (BG Gezgin, Strava, OsmAnd) to recognize routes.

2 How do I load it on my device?

Click the "Download GPX File" button. Transfer the downloaded file to Garmin Connect or the Wahoo app "Upload Route" to your device; it will sync to your watch or cycling computer over Bluetooth with one click.

3 Why Do Elevation and Grade Matter?

Distance alone does not tell you how difficult a ride is. A flat 50 km ride may take 2 hours, while a 50 km route with 1,200 m of climbing can take 4–5 hours and require three times the energy. Review climbing segments in advance to plan your water and food resupply.
