Bikepacking Bag & Load Distribution Calculator
Plan your gear by bag area before a tour, calculate total load, and optimize your center of gravity for comfortable riding ergonomics.
Your load distribution keeps the bike’s center of gravity balanced. The risk of front-wheel lift on climbs or heavy steering in corners is low.
1. Handlebar Bag (Handlebar Roll)
Light and bulky items: tent, sleeping bag, mat, and pillow.
2. Frame Bag (Frame Bag)
Heavy items: repair kit, pump, power bank, chain lube, and snacks.
3. Seat Pack (Seat Pack)
Clothing: spare jersey, base layer, fleece, windbreaker, and microfiber towel.
4. Cockpit, Fork & Bottles (Feed Bags)
Quick access and hydration: bottles, phone, wallet, and sunscreen.
? 3 Golden Rules of Bikepacking Load Distribution
Lower the Center of Gravity
Always place the heaviest tools, power banks, and liquids at the bottom of the frame bag. Weight close to the ground preserves cornering balance.
Keep the Handlebar Light
Attaching more than 2.5–3 kg to the handlebar slows steering response and tires your wrists on technical descents. Keep only light items such as a tent and sleeping bag there.
Prevent Seat-Pack Sway
Pack denser, firmer clothing in the nose of the seat pack near the saddle and lighter clothing toward the rear, then tighten the straps fully.
